A. Hello Kenneth,
Get-go you should pressure wash the unabridged fountain and hopefully also remove the calcium buildup. If the buildup is stubborn you may need a muriatic acid based cleaner and have to scrub information technology out. Don't forget safety guidelines. If y'all desire a natural physical wait concrete sealers are available at any hardware or home center shop. If you desire a color paint, a swimming pool supply store can hook you up with a reliable paint.

Q. My outdoor fountain when purchased had a beautiful variegated finish ... information technology now looks really bad, dull with large areas of what appears to be the concrete base of operations. It had been force per unit area washed to remove surface green slime merely each fourth dimension it was done the await became increasingly worse -- glaze is gone! Help! How tin can I restore information technology and what is needed? Thanks for whatsoever aid/suggestions you may offer.

Q. I only purchased a pocket-size water characteristic and I remember that information technology must be fiberglass. It had been painted dark grayness with what looks like a contumely antiquing.
I would love to restore that pigment and colour and thought about using a concrete stain that has a primer, colour and seal, merely I don't know what to use for the antiquing. Can you lot aid? Cheers

A. Hi Flo. Fiberglass can be tinted as it'south made, and that may take been the state of affairs with the grey portion of the colour. I'd bet that your standard outdoor paints like Rustoleum and Krylon are available in brass tones, and they may stick to the fiberglass depending on exactly what resin it is, and its age.
A possible alternative is but patina solution. This is a copper-bearing solution which should work fine if information technology sticks.
A final thought might exist to get some gel-glaze (the shiny outer layer on fiberglass boats) and try that. I don't think you'll find brass tone, but perhaps mixing yellow and brown volition be meliorate than zippo.
